Concert and Artistic Activities
The Academy of Music in Pula is the only university music institution in Istria. Our task is, therefore, to cherish music expression through concert and artistic activities, as well as to prepare a path to new music tendencies and considerations. With the help of concerts, projects and multimedia events in cooperation with our partner institutions and academies, we would like to enable our students to develop and improve their own interpretative and artistic concepts and ideas. With the support of eminent artists and their performances, we also wish to contribute to the quality and intensity of music and cultural life in Pula, Istria and the region. Due to many events and performances in the academic concert season, our students have a unique opportunity to get familiar with some guidelines that are necessary, but hidden in the immense space where art, music, culture and science are intertwined. They can achieve this, relying on their own aspirations and practical work. It is a great challenge for us to guide them along this path, simultaneously teaching and turning them into artists, pedagogues and researchers.
During the academic concert season, our students are given a chance to perform as soloists, members of chamber ensembles and/or members of the Academic Accordion Orchestra or the Academic Mixed Choir. The repertoire is carefully chosen and comprises the pearls of music literature, as well as the greatest pieces from different style epochs – from the early music up to premiered performances of contemporary compositions.
