Learning Outcomes

GRADUATE STUDY PROGRAMME OF CLASSICAL ACCORDION

Name of profession (profile): master of music – mag.mus. – classical accordion (field of art, sub-field of music art, branch of music reproduction)

Level of qualifications: 7

Scope of qualifications: 60 ECTS (2 semesters)

Requirements: 6 level qualifications, plus entrance procedure

 The general outcomes of graduate study programme of Classical Accordion are seen in competences (knowledge and skills of transferring professional and artistic insights/ achievements, and performing skills) that are expected in the field of art, as it is the case with other reproductive musicians and music teachers. The specific outcomes result from professional courses. Additional competences for teaching are acquired through choosing the Education Package courses (examinations to be passed). The outcomes of optional courses supplement and follow the outcomes of compulsory courses. Masters will acquire proficiency in music actively and passively, will be competent to independently prepare, arrange and play accordion pieces from different historical and style-periods. Every student, future music teacher, but also reproductive musician and leader of the accordion orchestra, will acquire knowledge and reach the peak of his/her music-artistic achievements.

After this one-year study programme, the student will be able to: 

  • interpret and analyze the most complex pieces (solo, chamber and orchestra) with regard to their historical and style differences 
  • carry out reproductive activities characteristic for an academic musician either as a concert player-soloist or a member of different music ensembles 
  • make sense of his/her own compositions, understand and critically evaluate them 
  • perform at a 50-minute-long concert 
  • transfer knowledge and skills in the field of art, instrument techniques, practicing,  ability to notice the subjective needs of learners  
  • perform the tasks of music teacher/pedagogue in primary and secondary music schools – the subjects: accordion, chamber music and accordion orchestra 
  • lead school, amateurish and similar ensembles 
  • cooperate with different education and cultural institutions 
  • do secondary activities in the fields of education and culture in general  
  • continue studying at the postgraduate level
