Undergraduate Study Programme of Solo Singing

About the Programme

The university undergraduate study programme of Solo Singing lasts four years, that is, eight semesters. The minimum number of ECTS credits, required for its completion, is 240. The graduate study programme lasts one year (two semesters) with at least 60 ECTS credits.

The study can be enrolled by candidates who finished the secondary music school or other four-year school provided that they have had the entrance examination and their knowledge has been additionally assessed.

Upon completion of the four-year undergraduate study programme, the student receives the title of bachelor of singing – academic musician singer (univ. bacc. mus.).

The general outcomes of the bachelor of solo singing are seen in the same competences (knowledge and skills of transferring professional, artistic insights and results, and performing skills), that are expected from other reproductive artists and music teachers. The specific outcomes are divided into the ones related to professional courses and the ones related to music theory courses. Additional teaching competences can be acquired through the Education Package courses (examinations to be passed).  The outcomes of optional courses supplement and follow the outcomes of compulsory courses.

The bachelor of solo singing is competent to meet all his/her requirements, just as it refers to other bachelors of solo singing at music academies in Croatia, Europe and the world.

The acquired knowledge enables him/her to successfully carry out working and artistic activities relevant for vocal soloists and/or members of vocal and vocal-instrumental ensembles, leaders of music (vocal) courses and workshops, cultural-artistic societies, different vocal (and vocal-instrumental) ensembles, music editors in printed and electronic media.

In addition, the bachelor of solo singing possesses other abilities at the artistic level:

  • ability to interpret (solo, chamber and choir music interpretation)
  • ability to analyze forms and styles, and harmonic structures
  • ability to orientate in the history of music
