Academic Concert Season
After the Juraj Dobrila University was founded in Pula, the Department of Music organized concerts in the past period, but not on regular basis. However, in the academic year of 2006/2007, the Department succeeded in introducing the academic concert production (soloist, chamber, choir and orchestra pieces) including, above all, students and other participants from Croatia and abroad.
We hope that this approach will further promote our students, performers from Pula, Istria and Croatia, present foreign musicians, and enrich the concert life, primarily here in the city, all year long.
Head of the Academy of Music
Organizing the academic concert season, we wish to strengthen the position of the Academy in the music, cultural and artistic space within Pula and Istria, to turn it into a more easily recognisable, innovative and propulsive factor not only in the local and national context, but also in the wider European framework, and even in the world academic and cultural setting.
It will be possible to achieve this due to our cooperation with top-class experts and musicians – guest professors, as well as with institutions that have been our partners for years.
During the season, it is important to ensure students a good platform for performances, presentations and interpretative advancement – either when they have solo performances, or when they are in a synergy and cooperation with teachers, pedagogues, distinguished guest performers.
