BIOGRAPHY:
Vjekoslava Jurdana was born in Rijeka in 1967. She completed the study of south Slavic languages and literature at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Studies in Rijeka where she won her doctoral degree writing a thesis about the role of history and space in Drago Gervais' opus. She has been permanently publishing scientific and specialist texts of the field of literature theory and history, as well as essays and representations of various topics. She published the book "History as Fate. Drago Gervais' Life and Creation." She was specially awarded by the town of Opatija for her scientific work about Gervais' life and work. She writes poetry in both the Chakavian and standard language. Many have been printed in group collections, but she published two collections of her own. Her reference book on the activities to cherish the Chakavian homeland expressions for pre school-aged children is in the process of being published. She has also written children's poems which were set to music on two sound records. She was working in primary school "Rikard Katalinić Jeretov" for many years and many times she was awarded for her teaching and extracurricular work.
